Prologue
The dark city streets are wet with rain, taxi drivers swerve from lane to lane in the chilled night. The soft sound of man-made 'blues' is echoing through the alleys, as a lonely man plays his guitar.
I am on the roof and I am staring at the stars, before I look down from the roof at the creature whose solemn music is distracting me from them. I can see you now. You are indeed the one that is creating this sad sound; you are the one that is making my blood boil. You are the one that makes my hunger grow. I am a vampire, and you are my dinner, solemn man, come to me.
I see you get up, you follow my wishes. You bring your guitar with you. I guess it is your most prized possession. All my victims always keep what means most to them, but they will never refuse me, for they can not.
You stand and head towards me, your guitar in hand. Your blonde hair waves in the evening wind and your blue eyes are dull, staring into nothingness, as is the typical action of those under my control. My eyes narrow, you seem somewhat familiar, but I cannot remember your name. It’s not like it matters to me anyway, to me you are just another face with no name, a victim to satisfy my hunger. Come to me, satisfy my hunger.

The next morning I wake up. I see you next to me, naked, covered in semen. Your body is dead. It is a familiar sight; my victims, dead, naked and spattered in blood and semen. I can't bring myself to care, it is what I do.
I get myself cleaned up and dressed. I dump your body in the water amongst my other victims. You and the other 'missing' ones from the television will be safe there. You will tell no secrets to those that might find you; there are no fingerprints upon you, for I have none, no identifiable DNA on your bodies and in your blood, for I am officially dead.
I am dead. My body was found, and it would have been buried if not for my guider. My guider retrieved my body from its coffin when no one was around. He knew what I was. I didn't die because of my wounds; I was not dead at all. I was merely sleeping… resting... regaining my powers. He saved me and helped me out. He taught me how to survive. He taught me how to be able to stand the sun...
Yes, I can stand the light of the sun. This is because I was bitten by a strong vampire. However it was not just any strong vampire. I was bitten by a legend.
I was bitten by Him.
He is one of the first to be a pure blood vampire. He is one of the strongest among our kind. He is my guider. My name is now feared among the others of our kind, even though I am still young. They fear my name for it is also His.
My human name was Kait. It is the name that I use when I find myself among those who are not equal to our race. None of the others of my kind know that name, and that is good. I am not to be known, I am not to be seen. I am a shadow, a ghost. I am the son of Him.
